Prospect Watch: George Lombard Jr.
The Yankees have just promoted their young prospect George Lombard Jr. to their triple A team showing a significant change in the Yankees development urgency. After a challenging year in 2025 where he struggled in their double A system hitting .215, Lombard returned to Somerset this spring and completely flipped the script, he popped off hitting .312 with a .571 on base percentage in just 20 games. His debut with the RailRiders on May 1st was just as impressive, he was able to reach base three times with a single and two walks. Lombard has done a very good job with proving that his advanced approach and refined swing mechanics are ready for the highest level of the minor leagues. George Lombard Jr. is one of the promising young talent in the league and certainly a player to keep your eye on.
